Severe cases of diabetes can often lead to serious cases such as diabetic retinopathy where the retina has small vessels and, when this gets damaged, the affected person can easily suffer from blurred vision and eventually lead to blindness.​

In other cases, diabetes may also affect the blood supply to the body and your feet may suffer as a result of little or no blood supply.​
